Taiwan Customs Thanks Rexchip for Supporting Narcotics Detection Dogs Training Dec.07,2009
Rexchip Electronics is a leading DRAM manufacturer in Taiwan. Its 300mm fabrication facility utilizes the most advanced technology to manufacture high density and high performance DRAM. This month, Rexchip received special thanks from the Directorate General of Customs, Ministry of Finance, Taiwan, for its help in supporting narcotics detection dogs training. Continuously supporting various kinds of public outreach projects makes Rexchip a model corporate citizen for other Taiwan enterprises.

The section chief of the department of investigation, Directorate General of Customs, Hsiao, Hsiue-Hsiung said, that narcotics detection dogs training is very difficult and challenging. Especially considering the space requirements for training, these dogs require areas that resemble docks and airports so that they can familiarize themselves with the working environment in advance. In the Australian drillmaster’s eyes, Rexchip possesses an excellent training space for narcotics detection dogs. Through Rexchip’s assistance, five dog handlers and their partners, five narcotics detection dogs, have passed the final examination in October and have been assigned to docks or airports immediately. They now are members of the Custom’s narcotics detection dogs’ team and have begun detecting and preventing narcotics import.

Since the construction of Rexchip’s first 12” fabrication facility, we have been involved in various types of public outreach projects. For instance, we have invited students who live in Houli to visit our advanced manufacturing facility, donating daily necessities to the neighborhood and providing assistance to the Central Taiwan Science Park’s events. We will continue to contribute to public outreach projects and assist in improving the community’s development.
